Bodrum Municipality’s Free Summer Camps
For a more community-oriented experience, Bodrum Municipality offers free summer camps in collaboration with the Bodrum Public Education Centre Directorate. These camps are designed to support the academic and creative development of elementary and middle school students. With a focus on holistic growth, the camps incorporate a wide range of activities, including chess, painting, volleyball, basketball, football, handball, swimming, sailing, karate, boxing, table tennis, foreign language learning, folk dances, speed reading, robotics coding, brain games, creative drama, marbling (ebru), and piano lessons. Experienced instructors guide these activities, ensuring that each child receives quality instruction and a chance to explore new interests. Applications for these camps can be made through the Culture and Social Affairs Department in Konacık or by contacting the municipality’s call centre. Sailing Summer School
Catering to children aged 6-14, the Bodrum Spor Yelken club offers two-week sailing programmes that are thoughtfully divided into age-appropriate groups, ensuring each participant receives tailored instruction. Classes run from 09:30 to 13:00 on weekdays, providing a balanced mix of learning and leisure. Upon completion, young sailors will be awarded the prestigious Turkish Sailing Federation National Sailing Training Programme (TUYEP) certificate, recognised by the Ministry of National Education. For those aged 14 and above, Bodrum presents the ILCA programme, also spanning two weeks with the same convenient weekday schedule. Graduates of this advanced course will similarly earn the TUYEP certificate, marking their achievements and skills in the world of sailing.
